ATTENTION ELECTRICIANS
Membership Development is alive and growing stronger in our Local. Spread the word about the I.B.E.W. and the benefits of being in our Brotherhood.
The requirement of 8000 hours as a journeyman, to take our Inside Wireman’s examination is the same as the State of California’s new certification law.
If you meet those requirements there is no reason not to be a Union IBEW member. If you have the hours or are working on getting those hours, we would like to talk to you.
Our Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee have classes for the apprentice and journeyman who need to brush up on skills and knowledge for this certification. Interest is very high about becoming a member and working with the best electricians and electrical contractors in the industry. We have fought for our wages, benefits and working conditions for over 100 years.
Get on board; ask what you can do to assist in our efforts or what you need to do to become a member. We are the most highly trained and best-prepared electricians to meet the needs of the future electrical demands, production and technology.

CONTRACT COMPLIANCE
OFFICE OF COMPLIANCE ADMINISTRATION, Electrical Industry Service Bureau
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 6 and the San Francisco Electrical Contractors Association (SFECA) represent the qualified, professional union electricians and contractors of the San Francisco electrical construction industry. These labor and management entities cooperate under the banner of the Electrical Industry Service Bureau and have established standards of excellence which comply with local, state and federal regulations for the performance of electrical construction work in the City and County of San Francisco.
In order to promote and protect the interests of our IBEW electricians and electrical contractors, the Office of Compliance Administration (OCA) was launched in September of 2001. The OCA monitors the bidding, administrative and work practices of contractors engaged in electrical construction work in San Francisco. The mission of the OCA is to ensure fair and lawful bidding and business operation practices with a special emphasis on public works construction.
