Membership Developement

The IBEW Local 6 Membership Development Department is committed to improving the lives of San Francisco’s electrical workers and their families. With more than 2,500 members, IBEW Local 6 is among the state’s strongest labor organizations, representing workers in a range of skilled occupations in a wide variety of fields, including construction, Voice-Data-Video, and numerous government agencies including: the Hetch-Hetchy Water and Power System, San Francsico MTA transit infrastructure maintenance, light rail vehicle, and rubber wheeled electric vehicle maintenance.

Built on the principles of family, fairness, justice and equality, IBEW local 6 reflects the fact that union members enjoy superior wages and benefits for their abilities. For these reasons, IBEW Local 6 and its Membership Development Department are dedicated to advancing the legacy of our founders: joining San Francisco’s electrical workers in a common organization to make a better life for all.

Our Mission

To organize all workers in the electrical industry of San Francisco, including those in the electrical construction trades, electrical maintenance, electrical manufacturing, and governmental agencies.
