As you may already know IBEW 6 and the City & County of San Francisco and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency reached impasse at the bargaining table. As a result of reaching impasse we did not have a last, best and final offer to bring to our membership to vote on. We began the Mediation/Arbitration process as required by the charter. Prior to the conclusion of the arbitration the parties reached agreement on certain items. Below is a brief summary of the current status of this round of collective bargaining.

Health –
Employee-Only – Effective January 1, 2014 (no changes before this benefit year)

“90%-90%” – The City shall pay 90% of the cost of the entire health insurance premium for Kaiser or Blue Shield, respectively, capped at the second highest cost plan (e.g., currently, Blue Shield).

Employees assigned to worksites outside of the service area will be exempt from the City Plan premium share.

No change to City contribution formula for Employee plus one and Employee plus two categories.
Floating Holidays – One-time award of two (2) Floating holidays in 2012-13. Total of seven (7) for FY 2012-13. Five (5) for FY 2013-14.
Furlough Days - No unpaid furlough days in FY 2012-13, 2013-14
Expediting Arbitration Process – for terminations and long-term suspensions only. Subject to mutual agreement.
Shift Differential – Four (4) hour trigger (down from 5) and clarification that differential is not a premium (i.e. is included in the base for pension purposes). Hours worked in increments totaling less than 4 hours not subject to shift premium.
Dental Co-Pays – to mirror other City Unions already paying co-pays. Approximately $6-$12 per month.
Internal Wage Adjustments – a. Class7480 - 15%
b. Class 7482 - 15%
c. Class 7484 - 15%
d. Class 7488 - 15%
e. Class 7229 - 15%
f. Class 7285 - 15%
g. Class 7319 - parity with Class 7371
h. Class 7510 - 5%

Work Shoes – every 18 months.
SFIA – All classes except 7318, 9240, 9241 and 9242 may go to 3 shifts a day,
Monday – Friday work week.
7318, 9240, 9241 and 9242 may go to 3 shifts a day, any 5 consecutive days in a seven day period.
DPW – DBI – side letters on parking tickets renewed
Lead Pay – no change
Travel Pay – for members who live in San Francisco and travel to SFIA or Sunol, they will receive a lump sum equivalent to their prior year payouts. Future payouts will cease.
Sunol Travel Practices - No Change
No Cost Parking - No Change
NERC Certification - Not Awarded
Also, we will be mailing out copies of the new C.B.A. once the document has been finalized.
